Plant Natives 2021!

The Tennessee Valley Chapter of Wild Ones is proud to announce Plant Natives 2021!  This year, there are big changes  – an exciting and expanded lineup of speakers AND a new way to obtain a great variety of native plants for spring planting.  Plant Natives 2021! includes:

  • A SPECIAL SEMINAR about Native Trees in a Time of Climate Change on March 19th
  • A 3-day VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM & EXPO featuring SEVEN speakers on March 19th – 21st
  • A new and expanded OUTDOOR NATIVE PLANT MARKETPLACE on March 27th

SPECIAL SEMINAR

The SPECIAL SEMINAR about Native Trees in a Time of Climate Change will be presented via a Zoom webinar on Friday morning, March 19th by scientist, author and photographer Tom Kimmerer.  Registration for this seminar is open to all.  It will also earn credit as an Elective for those individuals working toward the Certificate in Native Plants.

VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM & EXPO

The VIRTUAL SYMPOSIUM & EXPO will be presented in three half-day afternoon webinar sessions on Friday, March 19 – Sunday, March 21.  Recognized speakers in the field of native plant gardening and responsible landscaping will share live webinar programs to educate and inspire home gardeners and landscape professionals.

OUTDOOR NATIVE PLANT MARKETPLACE

And after you’ve been inspired by the Seminar and Symposium, you can come to the Saturday, March 27 OUTDOOR NATIVE PLANT MARKETPLACE, where there will be TEN regional native plant nurseries selling native plants.  The Outdoor Native Plant Marketplace will be held at the spacious and covered First Horizon Pavilion (home of the Chattanooga Market) in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee.  Food trucks and other vendors and exhibitors will add to the excitement of this special day that is free and open to the public.  Masks will be required.

More information about nurseries, vendors and exhibitors will be available in mid-March.

The OUTDOOR NATIVE PLANT MARKETPLACE will be FREE and open to the public.
