Join us for a spring wildflower hike along the trails and bluffs of Old Stone Fort Archaeological Park, where early ephemerals will be at their peak. Expect to see vibrant displays of bluebells (Mertensia virginica), bloodroot (Sanguinaria canadensis), troutlily (Erythronium americanum), violets (Viola sp.), toothwort (Cardamine sp.), spicebush (Lindera benzoin), and other seasonal favorites.

The route is generally easy, with a few moderate sections due to elevation changes and uneven ground.

Your hike leader, Gordon Revey, is a mostly retired engineer living in Manchester, TN. His lifelong passion for butterflies and native plants began 60 years ago under the mentorship of Josephine “Jo” Brewer, cofounder of the Xerces Society. Gordon’s interests in host plants and pollinators grew into a deep love for native gardening, diverse landscapes, and the everyday wonders of the natural world.
