Programs & Events

The Tennessee Valley Chapter of Wild Ones offers a variety of programs and events throughout the year, including the following:

Monthly Speakers

These presentations are generally held at 6:00pm on the second Monday of the month.  They are FREE and open to the public.  Please check the calendar for dates and program information.  View previous public programs on our YouTube Channel.

Certificate in Native Plants Classes

Monthly classes, taught by respected experts in their fields, are offered from January through November.  Classes are open to those pursuing the Certificate in Native Plants, as well as individuals simply interested in the topic.  Class discounts are available to Wild Ones members.

Spring and Fall Native Plant Sales

Regional native plant nurseries come to Chattanooga each spring and fall to offer a wide variety of native plants for local gardens.

Landscapes in Progress

These free, members-only events are held in home gardens of Wild Ones members.  They offer the opportunity to learn from each other about native plant gardening.

Regional Hikes, Garden Visits and other Pop-Up Events

Special events for members-only are presented and various times throughout the year.

Annual Meeting

The Tennessee Valley Chapter holds an annual meeting each year, usually in November.  At this free, members-only event, we elect Board members and officers for the coming year and share highlights from the prior year.  We provide lunch and offer a Native Plant/Seed Swap.

Holiday Social

In December, Wild Ones members gather for a potluck dinner.

Community Events

Volunteer members of our chapter set up information tables and booths at many local events throughout the year.  You are welcome to stop by to get information about Wild Ones, as well as practical tips about plant selection or starting your own native plant garden.
